Travel Tuesdays : Mexico City

For my birthday a few weeks back we took a trip down to Mexico City to explore a part of that country we’d never experienced. I’m used to the beautiful beaches but had no idea of how wonderful the metropolitan life was as well. A quick 1.5-hour flight from San Antonio and you’re there. I highly recommend adding this high on your travel list – I can’t wait to go back!
Some recs: stay @ this perfect little Airbnb, or if you prefer a hotel, Condesa DF {which also has an epic rooftop for cocktails}. Indulge for lunch at Guzina Oaxaca, grab late-night drinks at Jules Basement, roam around Lincoln Park, explore the open markets – Mercado de Medellin or Mercado Roma.
Have brunch at the fantastic French/Mexican bakery Panaderia Rosetta, get street tacos … anywhere, dine over the BEST mango margaritas at Condesa Azul, try grasshopper quesadillas!, taste pulque at the Pulqueria duelista, catch the bus to visit the pyramids, and lastly visit Plaza Garibald and tip like crazy. It was the best decision we ever made, I’ve never seen so many mariachi bands in my life!
Cheers, and happy Cinco de Mayo.
