Five Ingredients for Styling Your Bedroom

My favorite bedroom design, from my own to the amazing places I’ve stayed, all have five ingredients that make for the perfect style. The best part is, each piece can easily be found wherever you live and can be recreated with high end or budget-friendly options.
A perfectly styled bedroom starts with crisp white linens.
The first piece that is essential to great style is crisp white linens. White is a staple in my designs and creates the perfect base for the pops of color you will add later.

A bedroom can never have too many pillows.
Everyone knows (or should know) that I love accent pillows. They are the easiest and fastest way to add pops of color and interest to any room. From one simple pillow to 6 or 7, there is no correct number.

Choose metal accents that don’t overwhelm a bedroom.
Metal accents are like the salt of a great dish. Sprinkle it in to taste so it adds levels of texture but doesn’t overwhelm the room.

Artwork fit for a bedroom.
Art is a big part of my life and the bedroom is a great place to display some of my favorite pieces. A great statement piece or a gallery wall can bring a space in and give it an intimate feel. Faux taxidermy and gallery prints can easily mix as well.

Great bedroom lighting that doesn’t leave you in the dark.
Lighting is a must-have and can be accomplished with windows, sconces, mirrors and pendants. Don’t be afraid to mix and match. Much like pillows, you can never have enough.
